An assignment duty nurse goes in search of her live-in boyfriend, a successful photographer, to the Church run psychiatric institute, after he has a psychotic break. With the help of her lover, she receives a temporary assignment at the institute, where she learns that most of its patients aren't psychotic, they're possessed, and that the Church is exorcising as many of them as they can.
